SJP is a hands-on company that was founded in 1985.
SJP'S philosophy is of long-term career management, demonstrated by its highly successful relationship with producer John Leckie, who has been with the company since the very beginning.
Safta comes from an creative A&R background and has 30 years of experience. Having worked in all different aspects of the music industry through which he has gained a thorough understanding of the business and creative process - building some very important and impressive long-standing relationships with the music executives in almost every territory in the world.
Using the experience and the contacts developed in these areas of the music business, SJP is in a supremely strong position to put it's producers together with both the best of the new and established artists in the world.
SJP represent some of the most talented international record producers in the business, the present roster includes; John Leckie (Radiohead, Muse, Stone Roses), Ron Saint Germain (311, Tool. Soundgarden), Laurie Latham (Stereophonics, Jools Holland) and Chris Brown (Beatles Anthologies, Starsailor / Hundred Reasons). Over 100 international & UK Platinum/Gold/Silver award certifications received since the company inception of 1985.
In addition, Safta is also the presently the owner and Managing Director of Taste Music Ltd who control publishing rights for; Muse, Sundae Club, Buffseeds and Shed Seven.
Also until recently, Safta was the MD and co-owner of Taste Media Limited – Set up in partnership with Dennis Smith, they discovered, signed and managed Muse in 1998 whose first 3 albums were released through Taste Media Ltd and which all attained Platinum sales status having sold 5m albums throughout the world. In addition Taste Media had also signed Vega 4 (licenced to Capitol (US) and Serafin (licenced to Elektra (US).The Company was recently sold to Warner Music.
